Face Painting   Wednesday, June 7, 2017

A distressed lady called me recently to say her 2yr old son was locked in the house by himself.
I got there within 10mins to find the her frantic with worry.

She was about to go on the school run and had gone out to put her 5yr old twins in the car, went back to collect the 2yr old to find he had closed the door and found the white gloss paint she had been using the day before.
He then deceided to paint himself and all around.
He was rubbing it on his face, in his eyes and ears, while the lady was ging crazy through a side window trying to get him to stop.
The stress upon the lady and myself at this time was unbelievable.

I was under serious pressure to get the door open but of course it wasn't happening, all the elements seemed to be against me.
The lock wouldn't pick
The lock wouldn't slip
No letter box
She didn't want the lock or door drilled.

Eventualy the only option left was to remove a reasonable size pane of glass to the side of the door which was a 1st for me and hope I never have to do it again.
With the glass removed I reached inside to open the door to find the child had also locked the door on the inside.
The lady was very relieved to be able to get to the child,  I was very relieved she had calmed down.
Unbelievable mission all in all.
What's next ? who knows.

Indian Locks  Wednesday, June 7, 2017

Had a call recently to open 3 internal knobset locks all with the same key for an Indian man who had been on holiday and come back to find he had closed the doors and left the keys inside one of them but not sure which one.

Opened the first door nothing.
Opened the 2nd Bingo.
So all was good with that.

But on leaving I happened to look at the locks on the main front door and was quite amazed to see the lock he had which he said he had purchased in India,
never seen one like this before.
I would never have thought of looking to India for locks.

Wouldn't mind one of these on my door.

Recent job to open 2 sets of patio doors on a very nice house that hadn't been opened in at least 8yrs since the owners had moved in.
Opened both sets of doors, minor adjustments and replace 1 lock case.

1 Happy lady as she had a grand piano being delivered the next day that needed to enter the house via 1 of the sets of patio doors.

Police Federation Safe   Sunday, October 2, 2016

A call from the Police Federation with a request to gain entry to an electronic safe with dead batteries and a failed lock.

The only way in was through the back door which I created while a police inspector and 2 officers sat round a table in the same room, nothing like an audience.
